The CDH supports minority health and health disparities research in a variety of ways, including:

  • Connections to others on campus, in Madison, in Wisconsin and nationally who share interest in and expertise on minority health/health disparities; see our video library of presentations here.
  • Assistance with identifying and applying for federal and other funding to support research, education/training, and community partnership-building initiatives focused on minority health and health disparities;
  • Access to expertise on minority health issues, health disparities and intercultural communciations -- expertise that can enhance your research proposals, staff training initiatives, research-based manuscripts, course content, etc;
  • Assistance linking to experts in the Behavioral and Social Science; researchers who partner with multiple underserved, minority and/or immigrant communities in Wisconsin and elsewhere;
  • Mentoring to new and/or inexperienced investigators interested in targeted research experiences and/or membership on an established research team exploring minority health/health disparitiy areas; and
  • Assistance with applying for supplemental funds from the NIH to support pre- and post-doctoral training opportunities for minority researchers and junior faculty interested in health disparity research.
